Officers Reports Andy Kerr has been in touch with the National Clubs Officer (Fergus). 11 affiliated clubs in our Region two of which are National clubs. Andy to write to the remaining 9 to introduce himself. Anne asked about the A38rs who hadnt rejoined Weston & North Somerset to attend their Rally as a goodwill gesture in view of the oversight with the Best Club Turnout Award at the GWR. Hopefully others may be able to attend but this does clash with another event on our calendar. A short discussion ensued re the dreaded Public Liability Insurance and how BMF is much cheaper than MAG, so the Lysley MCC are affiliating to the BMF. Troll Quiet on the political front at present. Event Co-ordinators Role: This is only going to work if people know to contact George with details and feedback. Reps must inform their members to contact George to avoid a clash of dates for this to have a chance of working. Spider will contact Steve Peak who is taking over the web-site post in September. Anne mentioned that SP will be a great asset to the Regional Committee given his previous experience in the Midlands. Di Has now sent 41 letters. Because of the constraints of the DPA she has no way of telling if such letters have resulted in the respective members rejoining. S short discussion ensued on the dreaded MAG Membership Database. Kath - £4779 in the account. Region will send donation to Central once the new MAG Stand has been paid for. Amount to be decided. We had a discussion on submission of accounts by Group Treasurers as one still has not been received. Kath is to see the Treasurer concerned and tell them that if they do not have a PC then all that needs to be submitted to the Regional Treasurer is a copy of the pages in their Group Account Book. Kath will take forward. Anne emphasised that there is a fair section of the Constitution applicable to handling and accounting MAGs money and it was up to Group Reps to go back to their Officers and explain that these Clauses are NOT there to check up on anyone but are there for both their safety and the safety of MAGs money. These clauses have been added over the years through lessons that have been learned. |

NC/Board Report Trace explained that they had not had time at the NC meeting to ratify the Board Report. A lengthy discussion ensued about why? and how the days agenda was planned. Criticism was also made of the lengthy agenda pack given to delegates its cost to MAG & to the environment! The Chair was criticised because it had been decided to ratify the Board Report by email. However, our discussion concluded that this is unconstitutional and that it is the NC who oversees the Board of Directors and its work. The non-ratified BR mentions: Re-launch of the Corporate and Clubs Packs. Lack of Directors due to some leaving. [the comment was made that new Directors should be elected at the April AGC] Finance up £25k on last year. Events Posters submitted to the Road should be professionally produce [comment by committee is that this is a load of cobblers as the Event and raising money for MAG more important] Website designers have gone into liquidation. MAG Foundation is also running low on Trustees. MAG UK is concerned at the direction the Foundation is taking. NC Report New East Anglia Rep A Business Plan, presented by David Short, is to be re-named as the present title is misleading could be Campaigns Plans. MAG supports fully the Kill Spills campaign and its new planned venture to have multi-bike laps around Donnington and a police marshalled down to London. It was noted that this is on a Bank-Holiday! Trace I next have something which reads: Virtual Business .. complete B*ll*x. What is this please? We then discussed the various Motions to AGC!! Donna is to be awarded The Freedom Award at AGC. During the afternoon the NC had a Marketing demo by the IT company sorting the website. FEMA after having discussions on their voting system this is to remain the same. FEMA are becoming involved with European Professionals who support ISA and Trevor has been instructed by the NC to return to FEMA and ask them to withdraw their support. The UK will possibly be hosting the FEMA meeting for its 10th anniversary and for the 20th anniversary of FEM. Neil Stevenson is to be told he is not required to do anything for MAG at BIKESAFE. Glos MAG have it all in hand. Groups/Individuals are asked to submit a short report to the NC where a MAG stand has been exhibited and memberships taken. The Road please get it back into the Dealers Public Liability Insurance (PLI) Guide to be written by Justine, Trevor and Jane C. [Authors note: why does it take a member to bring a Motion to AGC to get this in place!!!***] There is to be a dress code for Regional Reps a discussion ensued, laughing abounded and words like utter crap resounded around the table. A Proposal for Trace to put an email out to the NC complaining about the negligence of the Board Report not being ratified constitutionally and in the proper manner at the NC meeting. And to reiterate that it is the NC who run MAG and not the Board. The Directors are there to conduct the business side of MAG. Passed unanimously. |

Update on the order for the MAG Stand This will be ready by end of month. Deposit has been paid. Delivery will be to Troll Manor. Bev/Troll to arrange collection of this for BikeSafe and delivery to Troll of the old stand for the Totally Triumph bun fight over the same weekend. It was agreed that once the new stand is delivered to Troll Manor he would put an email out and we can descend upon his place to see its all there etc. It was agreed that we must have a list of rules for this stand so that it is stored properly and not stored wet etc. Someone also to hold a book/diary of where this is at any one time. Di offered to do this. Insurance for the new stand Trace to investigate. |
