Well the ol’ Troll has been a bit quiet of late due to his hard drive packing up (I blame an infestation of Gremlins that have moved on from either the Web or Comms chaps), which means a lot of data lost and having to get to grips with new software, that, will insist on doing things differently, stone tablets never gave me these problems, bruised toes, yes!
It seems that the poor ol’ Troll is in trouble over punctuation! As The Troll received a Secondary school education, where they tried (and failed) to teach the Troll the finer points of Grammar, I never quite got the hang of all those commas and such. So my apologies to those of you, who wince at my mangling of the printed word, and if anyone wishes to volunteer to proof read The Wrag please let me know.

Marshals are desperately needed for MAG events, so if you are going to one of our events please let your committee know if you can spare a couple of hours to help. The first event needing marshals is the very popular Duk Dik Rally, other events requiring marshals are; Bristol MAG’s Bristol Bike Show; W & NS MAG’s Bikefest & GWR Rally; and of coarse the Enduro Secure Bike Park run by MAG. Please don't leave it to others. NO MARSHALS means NO EVENTS and no income for MAG!
Those sterling chaps of Mid-Wilts MAG have held their first AGM (well for as long as they can remember), and have elected the following officers;
The group is flourishing and their weekly meetings at The Kingfisher are
proving popular, and with a new biker friendly landlord soon to take over
things are looking up. Their next AGM is on the 2nd February 2006.
Keep up
the good work Chaps
The national launch of Bike Safe 2005, will take place at Cheltenham Racecourse over the weekend of 2nd-3rd April, and is hosted by Gloucestershire Constabulary. This initiative is being run by police forces across the UK, working with biking groups to reduce the number of Motorcycle rider casualties. For more info: www.bikesafe.co.uk
Avon & Somerset Constabulary are urging bikers to take care, after the rate of fatalities rose alarmingly in the forces area. Their hard-hitting message ‘bike’s don’t kill people - riders do’ comes after a 91 per cent rise in fatalities in 2004 from previous years.
The police will be running a pro-active campaign in May, when officers will carry out stop-checks throughout the force area, and will encourage riders to take further training.
Salisbury Livestock Market is the location of the 2005 Annual Group
Conference, where, on the 9th April you have the opportunity to vote on any
burning issues and to elect the National Officers that you want at the helm of
MAG. The Western Region is organising a mass group attendance, so keep in
touch with your local committees for details.
More details about the AGC
can be found at: www.mag-uk.org or in StreetBiker.
Weston & North Somerset MAG is holding their AGM on the 13th April 2005, at The Bell, Congresbury at 8:30 pm. Nominations for Officers and any Proposals to be given to the Committee by the 30th March.
