Have you done it yet?
Please please lobby now.
Mid Lincs people have
and the response from Government and their MEP have brought new information
from Government and a willingness from their MEP to listen to the rider’s
position.
The UK Government have said that it most unlikely that any amount
of lobbying will succeed wholly in removing the “motorcycle
staging” elements,
the compromise according to the UK Government has very little margin in
flexibility for changes.
The motorcycle community have been involved in
talks for the past year government haven’t listened, the commission and
council of ministers have ignored us, most MEPs don’t understand the
implementations for motorcycling despite previous lobbying.
We have got to
make them realise that unless the motorcycle community is listened to, then
they have a fight on their hands to remove the motorcycle part of the
directive or move the compromise which at its best is a shambles.
As the
compromise stands we should not accept this and urge the Government on the one
hand not to accept such a proposal, but definitely more importantly for the UK
and the Council not to make it in the first place.
This weekends FEMA
meeting will see a definitive stance from riders groups in Europe with MAG UK
and the BMF leading the charge so to speak.
Lobby NOW or we will have sold
motorcycling down the river for future generations. Keep up the pressure if
your MEP doesn’t respond to your email in two days contact them again
requesting a response.
