Trollitorial

The Troll recently sat in on a local group AGM, and was alarmed to hear that that group may not exist next year! The Reason? Its simple, as with most groups within the Western Region, most of this groups committee have been on the committee for quite some time and they are running out of ideas.
And as one of the committee stated, unless some fresh faces come forward to help or take over the running of the group, the group will wither and die. This is a problem across the Region that needs to be addressed. But what is the answer? No, ‘Tis a problem within Biking itself!
Whilst in all voluntary organisations it will invariably be the hard-core members who hold committee posts and undertake necessary jobs, if you don’t want to see your group disappear encourage new talent to come along and get stuck in. The Troll.

Western Region AGM

Thirty-eight MAG members took the trouble to attend the Western Region AGM hosted by Weston & North Somerset MAG, and thank you for attending and taking part in the democratic process that ensures this region is run how the membership wants.
After the Officers gave their reports for the year, the election of Officers for the coming year took place.
Your Regional Officers now are;

Ian Mutch, Auther and Editor of The Road was the observer for the National Committee and he also gave a talk. During the break, Ian took photographs of several our regions members with their trusty steeds for future My Bike articles in The Road.

The posts of Events Officer and Products Officer are currently Vacant, and it is of great importance that the Products post be filled, so if you would like to give it a go, please contact the committee.
Please have a look at the following petitions and if you feel that you agree, please sign up.
It is of paramount importance that everyone & their dog, before 20th February, go on-line & sign the petition for the travel tax. Once you have signed it you will get an email back -your vote does not count until you have responded to this email.
Road Pricing is a smoke screen for knowing where you are 24 hours of everyday -extreme big brother stuff.

The traveltax petition is the largest on the site by several orders of magnitude. But also _Please_ sign up on the Free Bike Parking petition also:
