A slight detour had to be made to the original route due to the Cumberland Bridge being swung open for engineering work.

Along with all the Food, Toiletries and Blankets a collection raised £158. Bristol MAG Soup Run

Julie Grffiths of the Trust thanked MAG for its support of the Trust, and Andy Derrett spoke on behalf of MAG, pointing out how easy for some bad luck to put any of us out on the street and in need of shelters such as the Julian Trust.

Bristol MAG are hosting a quiz night against Weston MAG at The Mayors Arms on the 22 November.

Rolf

Rolf, of Bristol MAG, left Bristol with his Family for the wilds of Lancashire on 24th October and had a bit of a farewell at the Mayors Arms the Saturday before.

Rolf is well known for his act of heroism when, seeing, a bike being stolen, he stepped out to try and stop the thieves, a gesture for which he suffered devastating injuries which will plague him for the rest of his life.

However, what Rolf might not be as well known for is that he held several local committee posts over the years helping the Group.

Good luck, Rolf. Keep in touch mate and see you at the Bike Show. AG

AGC

MAG UK will be holding their AGC on the 26th April 2008 in Bromsgrove.

Weston & North Somerset MAG

For once the weather was kind to Weston MAG for the annual Beach Races, although the Saturday was as usual a quiet day, the Sunday however was extremely busy, to the point where we were forced reluctantly to close the Secure Bike Park.

The Troll even had a swank new home for the weekend in the form of an arctic’ trailer, so there was plenty of room for all those Helmets

We even helped to reunite one customer with a lost set of keys with the help of the Organisers and the Police, otherwise he was facing a return trip to London to get the spare keys.

The one disappointment of the weekend was the lack of volunteers to help out, but, for those who did a really great big Thanks to all of you. The Troll.

Motorists get turned on

Motorists in County Mayo, Ireland are being encouraged to get ‘turned on’ this month. Mayo County Council organised ‘Daylighted’ Day on 25 October to encourage its employees to use dipped headlights during the day. A recorded message at a major car park reminded motorists to make sure they have their dipped headlights and seatbelts on.

Noel Gibbons, RSO, said: "I hope these safety initiatives will encourage road users to get ‘turned on’ and automatically switch on their dipped headlights before setting off. Seeing and being seen are basic safety principles for all road users. But many motorists don’t consider it important to have their lights on during the day and mistakenly believe that they are clearly visible to pedestrians and other motorists"
