Western Region AGMAbout 40 MAG members turned out on a bright if chilly day to partake in the annual Regional AGM held at Mid Wilts MAGs venue The Lysley Arms, Chippenham. |
The AGM was supposed to start at 12:30 but due to the tardy arrival of the Official Observer, one Ian Mutch (he got lost again!), our guest speaker started the proceedings by giving us a talk on his background and the work he does for MAG, by putting across MAG’s views on various aspects of motorcycling to government officials and ministerial committees. |
With the eventual arrival of Mr Mutch, the AGM could start. All the Officers were re-elected with the exception of Trace who wanted to stand down as the Regions liaison to the NC. Bill Pugsley was then elected to this position. We also now have a Products Officer Taff aka Alan Jones of Mid Wilts MAG. |

Your Regional Officials are:

From time to time the Regional Committee likes to reward the hard work that some of the regions members put into MAG, and this year a very popular person was awarded a trophy for the work that she has put into not only Bristol MAG but the Region as well. Thank you for your dedication and hard work Claire. |
A discussion then ensued on the failure of the National Chair to prepare proper Agendas & the NC to provide adequate minutes on the decisions made regarding the re-launch of MAG and the change’s made to the Logo and website. A vote was then taken to ask the NC for an explanation for these decisions. |
Thanks to Mid-Wilts and everyone involved, and also David Short who came down from Yorkshire. All in all the AGM went very well |

Late Arrival Penalties The charter below should be passed on to Mr Mutch as a 'code to live by' insofar as his turning up on time is concerned: Penalties for late arrival at an official MAG event might be:
Glos MAG at their venue, The England’s Glory will host the 2009 AGM on the 25 January 2009 (date still to be confirmed) Mid Wilts MAG AGMAs if the chaps at Mid-Wilts haven’t had enough with hosting the Regional AGM, they are having their own AGM on the 7 February at the Kingfisher Hungerdown lane, Chippenham, SN14 0JL from 20:30. So go along and have a say in how your group is run, and don’t forget those membership cards. Bristol MAG AGMThe faithful Bristol MAG members turned up for Bristol MAGs AGM on the 17th January at The Mayors Arms. Aine Gale chaired the meeting, and after the Officers reports the election of Officers took place. After some consideration Andy Derret has stepped forward as the Groups Rep and a very popular decision this was, other new officers include Bruce as Safety Officer, Peter Webb as Membership Secretary, John Stacey, as Dealer Liaison and Stacey as Social Secretary. Andy felt that Bristol MAG had lost direction for a while and he wants to put some structure back into the Bristol MAGs activities. Bristol MAGs main campaign for the future will be to see that Motorcycles are exempted from the proposed Bristol & Bath Congestion Charging scheme. Plans are being laid for the return of The Bristol Bike Show on the 16th August, and Sian is Liasing with the Show Committee on behalf of Bristol MAG. Another popular return will be the annual Sandcastle run.
