Holy Joe’s Bike show

Having been asked to assist with a MAG stand at the holy Joe’s Bike show in Chipping Sodbury, Aine and myself duly turned up with all the usual bumf, expecting to find Eddie waiting with Gazebo!

Well this is MAG, Eddie turned up on his Harley minus Gazebo!! Luckily he lives just round the corner so it was a quick trot back for the Gazebo. Anyway there was quite a few bikes turned out for the show, a live band provided the music (pity about the singer) and food and drink available. And we even managed to sign up a new member! A very nice Norton trials bike won best in show, and Dominic’s tatty two-stroke one best rat. The Troll

Glos MAG

Back in March Glos MAG organised a first aide course for MAG members, run by Mark Harris of Rubicon First Aide.

A smattering of Bristol MAG and Mid-Wilts MAG members, plus one or two from other organisation joined about 11 Glos MAG folk for a great if tiring; day of First Aide entitled "Emergency Action Course for Motorcyclists". One or two got a bit bound up in bandages and wot not, and learned how to deal with various injuries.

The training came in handy at the Slippit Inn Rally when a Bristol MAG member burnt his hands on one of the braziers! Den

Not-Avon MAG

Not-Avon MAG held their AGM at The Lamb, Iron Acton. Where, twixt courses, Eddie guided the assembled members thro’ the forgotten territory of an AGM. After a brief history of the Group and its wanderings around South Gloucestershire Inns, one it turn out had become an asylum, a discussion took place on the direction the group should take. It was decided that the group should become more politically active, and look at issues that affect bikers in S Glos’; it was also decided to liase with Bristol MAG on joint issues. Eddie was re-elected as Rep, but would like to step down at the next AGM. Hugh is the Treasurer, Mike is the Social Sec, and Dominic is the Information Officer. Their next AGM is in December2. 2008.
